Scared of tattoo pain? These are the most painful places to get a tattoo

Getting a tattoo is painful. It just is. You are, after all, having a needle make a bunch of tiny punctures in your skin to place ink inside of you. Though it’s going to be painful regardless of where you put the tattoo pen, there are obviously going to be some places that are worse than others. Ever wonder where are the worst places to get tattooed? CisTheta Global did the painful research so you won’t have to…

Head is one of the most painful place to get a tattoo because of the lack of fat and abundance of nerves there. Not only is it painful , but apparently the noise and vibration is also little scary – it can feel like they are drilling your skull.

Our eyes is one of the most sensitive part of body. This spot is also particularly painful. Most people scream, cry, and faint when they have an eyelid tattoo done. One man who got inked here said, “I cried ink for two straight days.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, but penis and vagina tattoos are horrifically painful. And, depending on what equipment you have, the healing time can take weeks or even months. For the sake of being able to let you sleep at night, we won’t even go into what could happen if you get infected here.

Armpit tattoos are an iffy investment, due to sweating and the constant friction of skin-on-skin. To make matters worse, this also has a very long healing time, a very high chance of infection, and also is brutally painful to deal with on a daily basis. You might want to avoid armpit tattoos as a whole.

The ribcage is a particularly painful place to get a tattoo because we don’t have as much fat, muscle, or skin on ribs. The ribcage is widely thought to be the #1 most painful place to get a tattoo  due to the presence of so many nerve endings. Getting a rib tattoo can be so painful for some that even the toughest guys turn into blubbering babies. If you really want to get a tattoo in this part of your body, brace yourself for some serious pain.

A total of 20 major nerves run from the cervical spine and cranium to the front of the neck and throat to allow you to do everything from smile to turn your head to smell, hear, see, and taste. The soft tissue on the front of the neck is the most sensitive and painful part of this area.

This is one of the few places where huge amounts of nerve endings all collide. A large percentage of people who try to get a tattoo inside of their knees tend to cry, abort the tattoo, or even just pass out in the chair. If you do, don’t feel bad. You’re not alone!
